PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problems: a control means of a conventional dishwasher finishes a running program when a temperature of cleaning water reaches a specified temperature or a cleaning water pump runs for a specified time; and when a fouling amount of dishes introduced inside a cleaning tank by a user is more than that in a normal case, a part not cleaned remains, and when a fouling amount is less, a cleaning water volume or a working time is unnecessarily consumed. SOLUTION: The dishwasher includes a fouling sensor which is provided inside the cleaning tank to detect a fouling degree of cleaning water and is used as an inside-tank lamp for lighting the inside of the tank. The dishwasher runs for cleaning with a running program corresponding to the fouling degree of the cleaning water, thereby allowing the running with less energy. Because the sensor is available as the lamp for lighting the inside of the tank, setting/removing of the dishes is easy. Thus, the dishwasher that is user-friendly can be provided.
