PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealed secondary battery which can adjust stably the internal pressure in the case and where damages of an electrode body are prevented. SOLUTION: The sealed secondary battery 10 has a wound electrode body 30, housed in a battery case 20 and a safety valve 27 on a case wall 22 located in lateral direction of the winding axis. An electrode terminal 40 is extracted to the outside from a terminal extraction hole 242 installed in the case wall 22 and is insulated from the case 20 by insulating members 50, 60. The inner insulating member 50 has a fitting part 520, interposed between the wall 22 surrounding the terminal extraction hole 242 and the terminal 40 and an extension part 540, extending from the fitting part to the safety valve 27 side. The extension part 540 has a gas guidance groove 542, capable of guiding the gas on the terminal extraction hole 242 side to the safety valve 27 side, having a cross-section in which the end part on the opposed side to the electrode body 30 is closed and the side opposed to the wall 22 is opened.
