PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display medium suppressing display defect, even when an external force is applied to the medium, compared with a configuration in which color developing layers each including a porous layer comprising an assembly of a plurality of particles and an electrochromic dye held by the porous layer, and electrode layers structured separately from the color developing layers are alternately stacked. SOLUTION: The display medium 12 is configured to include an electrolyte 27 in a region between a substrate 26 and a substrate 30, in which an electrode 32 is formed close to the electrode 30 side and a plurality of color developing layers 20 are stacked via insulating layers 22 in the thickness direction in the region between the electrode 32 and the substrate 26. Each of the color developing layers 20 comprises a sheet type conductive porous material and an electrochromic dye held in the porous material, and the electrochromic dyes included in the respective color developing layers 20 develop different colors from one another.
