PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly conductive copper-clad aluminum wire that has flexibility and processability, shows good wire drawability and has a proper tensile strength. SOLUTION: The copper-clad aluminum alloy wire is obtained by cladding an aluminum alloy wire with copper, wherein the aluminum alloy wire is formed from an aluminum alloy containing 0.15-0.4 mass% Si, 0.6-1.7 mass% Fe, 0.06-0.2 mass% Cu and the balance being Al and unavoidable impurities.
