PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control system for using voice in a television program as an alarm for an alarm clock, with as little disruption to others. SOLUTION: In the remote control system, if the time established by a control 24 of a remote control 200 comes based on time information at a clock 15 and timer setting information stored at a memory 16, the power supply of a video apparatus 100 is turned on. Then, a voice signal contained in a broadcasting signal tuned in according to the timer setting information is transmitted from a radio signal transmitter 20 to a radio signal receiver 23, and voice of a television program is output from a speaker 25 of the remote control 200.
