<p>A management computing device is provided with a storage unit in which pathway information showing the transmission pathway of a frame in a communication network is stored, and a monitoring unit. First to N-th nodes (where N is an integer of 2 or more) are present along the transmission pathway in numerical order. In processing identifying the location of a failure generated on a transmission pathway, the monitoring unit transmits a status notification frame to the first node. An i-th node (i=1 to N-1) which has received the status notification frame adds the management computing device to the transfer destination and thereby updates the transfer table, and transfers the status notification frame over the physical link to an (i+1)-th node. Further, the i-th node which has received a monitor frame refers to the updated transfer table and transfers the received monitor frame to the (i+1)-th node and management computing device. The monitoring unit identifies the location of the generated failure on the basis of the reception status of the monitor frame from the transmission pathway.</p> |
