<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure suitable for an illumination device capable of prolonging lifetime of an LED light source and other members or the like in the illumination device utilizing the LED light source. <P>SOLUTION: Illumination is carried out from a light-emitting face of a light guide plate by emitting irradiation light having an LED as a light source from a side face of the light guide plate (8). On the opposite side of the light-emitting face of the light guide plate (8), a mirror face member 1 which has thermal conductivity and of which both faces are worked to be a mirror face is arranged and thermally coupled with the LED light source in order to discharge heat generated by the LED light source. Moreover, the mirror face member 1 reflects a portion of the light emitted from the light guide plate in a direction of the light-emitting face. The device is consisting of a light-emitting part 3 including the LED light source and the light guide plate (8), a relay part 4, and a base board part 5, wherein respective parts are rotatably coupled mutually by a hinge having locking characteristics.
