<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recorder which can accurately detect inclination amount of a dot to be recorded even when there is a transportation error of a recording medium at recording of a test pattern for detecting the inclination amount of a recording position. <P>SOLUTION: Deviation amount in a transportation direction between the recording position of a first ejection port train 310 and the recording position of a second discharge port train 313 is detected by the test pattern and the inclination amount is obtained based on the deviation amount.
