A multi-carrier configuration information transmission/reception method, base station and terminal are provided by the invention. Wherein, the multi-carrier configuration transmission method is used for a terminal to hand over between a legacy base station and an advanced base station. The time zone of the advanced base station comprises a first zone and a second zone, wherein the first zone is the zone supporting advanced protocol and the second zone is the zone supporting legacy protocol. The invention improves the processing efficiency of the system.
