<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for screening telomere-initiated cell signaling modulators. <P>SOLUTION: The method for screening Mre 11 modulator, tankyrase modulator, DNA-damaging pathway modulator and MRN complex-forming modulator for the purpose of protecting mammals from the failure of growth arrest, apoptosis or proliferative senescence, includes: (a) the step of contacting in vitro a candidate modulator with Mre 11 in the presence of a nucleic acid substrate for Mre 11; and (b) the step of measuring the hydrolysis of the substrate, thereby altering the hydrolysis of the substrate as compared with a control to identify the aimed modulators. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
