<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily constitute a system without using a network. <P>SOLUTION: In a label producing system LS, a label producing apparatus 100 includes a connector 105T for a first target and a connector 205T for a first host. The label producing apparatus 200 includes the connector 205T for a second target. The label producing apparatus 200 outputs a second tape related information based on the detection result of its own cartridge sensor 27 to the label producing apparatus 100 through a communication cable 9b provided in the connector 205T for the second target. The label producing apparatus 100 produces a first tape related information according to the second tape related information input from the label producing apparatus 200 and the detection result of its own cartridge sensor 27.
