PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joint which can increase an assembling speed by enabling steel columns to be joined together on a steel structure erection site by simple work, and which enables the reuse of a member after use. SOLUTION: In this steel column joint for fitting a female-type bracket and a male-type insertion fitting together, the female-type bracket 1a has a leading end provided with a widened and tapered recess 29; and the male-type insertion fitting 2a has a leading end provided with a narrowed and tapered protrusion 30. Thus, operations using a torque wrench as in the case of conventional bolt jointing become unnecessary; and the jointing of steel columns is completed.
