PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a l method for controlling a keyboard that changes color and the light emission keyboard that implements the same, to change the colors of backlight of the keyboard in various ways. SOLUTION: In the method for controlling the keyboard that changes its color, a drive signal table is generated, a plurality of backlight drive signals are stored, an input signal is detected, whether to sequentially output the backlight drive signals or output the backlight drive signal corresponding to the input signal is determined, and a backlight unit (2) of the light emission keyboard is driven. The light emission keyboard that implements the control method stores the drive signal table in a memory unit (11), detects the input signal by an MCU (Micro Control Unit) (13), and the MCU (13) sequentially outputs the backlight drive signals based on the input signal, or outputs the backlight drive signal corresponding to the input signal, and drives the backlight unit (2).
