PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust sensor management device and an exhaust sensor management method for performing recovery processing for recovering responsiveness of an exhaust sensor, when the responsiveness of the exhaust sensor reduces. SOLUTION: An on-vehicle control device determines whether or not the responsiveness of an A/F sensor reduces by comparing normal output with actual output of the A/F sensor estimated from an engine operation state. When the responsiveness is reduced (S400:Yes), the on-vehicle control device turns on a responsiveness abnormal flag of the A/F sensor (S402). and an abnormal lamp in a meter is turned on (S404). When a diagnostic tool is connected to a vehicle by radio transmission or a cable in a dealer, the diagnostic tool commands the performance of responsiveness recovery processing of the A/F sensor to the on-vehicle control device when the responsiveness abnormal flag is ON (S406:Yes). The recovery processing is performed (S412), and when the responsiveness of the A/F sensor is recovered (S414:Yes), the on-vehicle control device turns off the responsiveness abnormal flag (S422).
