PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric blower miniaturized and having a high air blowing performance and a vacuum cleaner in which the electric blower is used. SOLUTION: This electric blower includes an impeller 2 having a mixed flow blade 2a, an electric motor 6 for driving a rotating shaft 5 to which the impeller 2 is secured, and an air guide 9 having an air passage for guiding the airstream generated at the impeller 2 along the outer periphery of the electric motor 6. The air guide 9 is configured by partitioning, into a plurality of parts in the extending direction, the air passage extending while continuously increasing the cross sectional area from the upstream side toward the downstream side. By this configuration, the airstream from the impeller 2 can be guided smoothly to the air passage of the air guide 9, and the sufficient air passage length of the air guide 9 can be secured. Consequently, the dynamic pressure of the airstream can be sufficiently converted into the static pressure while the flow velocity of the airstream is reduced, and the electric blower miniaturized and having a high air blowing performance can be realized.
