PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer transducer which can be used as a polymer actuator capable of being efficiently driven even at a low voltage and exhibiting excelling performance in the occurrence capability, displacement amount and operating speed or as a deformation sensor excellent in responsiveness and detection capability and fully flexible and excelling in shock resistance, and which is light in weight and flexible and is able to stably work even in a condition where water does not exist. SOLUTION: The polymer transducer 10 has a pair of electrodes, and a polymer solid electrolyte disposed between the pair of electrodes and containing ion liquid and polymer, and in the polymer transducer, a barrier layer for preferentially transmitting cation with respect to anions or transmitting anions to cations is disposed between the polymer solid electrolyte and at least either of the pair of electrodes.
