摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the flicker intensity in a liquid crystal display device employing an IPS (in-plane switching) system to a degree not influencing the display quality. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes: a first substrate; a second substrate; a liquid crystal layer held in between the first substrate and the second substrate; a first polarizing plate disposed on an opposite side of the first substrate to the side where the liquid crystal layer is disposed; a second polarizing plate disposed on an opposite side of the second substrate to the side where the liquid crystal layer is disposed; and pixel electrodes and a common electrode on the side of the second substrate where the liquid crystal layer is disposed, wherein either the pixel electrodes or the common electrode or both of them are in an interdigital form.
