PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position adjustment type steering device performing tilt adjustment and telescopic adjustment by a single actuator, and having a simple structure. SOLUTION: A worm shaft 50 is rotatingly driven by an electric motor 42, with the rotation of a worm wheel 47 locked by a lock mechanism. The worm wheel 47 executes a translation movement on the worm shaft 50. An upper jacket 16 executes a telescopic movement as shown by a white arrow in Fig.11(b). During the tilt adjustment, the worm wheel 47 is rotated by releasing the lock of the worm wheel 47. A pinion 48 is rotated relative to a rack 52, and the upper jacket 16 executes a tilting movement, together with the rack 52. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
