<p>Disclosed is a vehicle controller (2) comprising an accelerator pedal (50) that, by adjusting the operation amount thereof, is able to regulate the power generated by an engine (10) serving as a power source while a vehicle (1) is travelling. To achieve a more reliable improvement in fuel efficiency, when the vehicle (1) is decelerating and when the operation amount of the accelerator pedal (50) is not 0, that is to say, when the accelerator opening degree is not the fully closed position, the vehicle controller performs a fuel cut control for stopping the supply of fuel employed to operate the engine (10). This ensures a reduction in the quantity of fuel injected by a fuel injector (14) and a reduction in the quantity of fuel consumed even when the accelerator opening degree is not the fully closed position. As a result, a more reliable improvement in fuel efficiency can be achieved.</p> |
