PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for determining foam density in a beverage container by utilizing a Tyndall effect. SOLUTION: Condensed optical flux is radiated into foam from a light source. The optical flux is refracted in the foam, and a light ray that has been diffused becomes visible on the surface of the foam. By measuring a contour of a spot of such light, the density of the foam can be determined.
