PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cover type spectacle frame configured so that a pair of cover front portions, left and right, is detachably attached to the front of the front frame of spectacles. SOLUTION: The cover type spectacle frame has such structure that the cover front portion 3 is detachably attached. The cover front portion is configured so as to be opened outward in a state of being attached to the front frame of the spectacles. The cover front portion is provided with a holding portion so that the cover front portion can be attached even to a general spectacle frame. The holding portions are detachably attached to the outside of the rim ends 8 provided on both sides of the front frame. A base portion is detachably fitted in a hole provided in the holding portion, the base portion which is connected, via a shaft, to a mounting portion extending to the outside of the cover front portion.
