A bed device comprises: a load measurement means for generating a load signal; a first calculation means for calculating a gravity center variation or load variation from the load signal; a first determination means for determining whether the calculation result of the gravity center variation or load variation exceeds a first threshold value or not; a count means for counting the number of times that the calculation result is determined to exceed the first threshold value; a second calculation means for multiplying the coefficient for each period to the counted result and then adding those results together; and a second determination means for determining whether the user is in a awake or sleep state or whether the user is in a body movement or rest state, based on whether the calculation result by the second calculation means exceeds a predetermined second threshold value or not. This makes it possible to monitor user's movements using the load information on a bed and thereby detect awake and body movement states of the bed user at a high accuracy.
