<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a translucent member for a display, the member being inexpensively manufactured, causing little sticking of a fingerprint or the like thereto, and exhibiting improved durability such as wear resistance and weatherability, water drop repellency (water slipping property), oil repellency and anti-fouling property, and to provide a method for manufacturing the member, and a display and an article each using the member. <P>SOLUTION: The translucent member 10 for a display includes a transparent substrate 11 on which a transparent hard coat film 13 coated with a water-repellent oil-repellent anti-fouling film 15 containing a fluorocarbon group is formed.
