PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wooden lid for a side ditch which is easy to handle because it is lightweight and which can secure safety. SOLUTION: In the wooden lid 30 for the side ditch made of a wooden member covering the opening 20a of the side ditch 20 and mounted on the side ditch 20 having a nearly U-shaped cross section, the wooden member is constituted by a plurality of square bars 31 which are arranged side by side toward the front-and-rear F, B directions where the side ditch 20 is extended. A hole 33 penetrating in the up-and-down directions is formed between the square bars 31 adjacent to each other in the front-and-rear F, B directions. Then an inclined surface 34 on the rear top surface descending from the top surface of the square bar 31 toward the rear side B, an inclined surface 35 on the front top surface descending from the top surface to the front side F, an inclined surface 36 on the rear undersurface ascending from the undersurface toward the rear side B, and an inclined surface 37 on the front undersurface ascending from the undersurface to the front side F are formed on the square bars 31.
