The method involves segmenting cross sections of the hollow structure along a path of the hollow structure sectionally. A threshold value is adjusted dynamically into actual segmentation step depending on a detected setting parameters from a previous segmentation step. A minimum or maximum diameter or a surface of the cross section is detected as setting parameters. An independent claim is also included for a tomographic device for segmentation of a hollow structure in a tomographic image.
