The method involves determining a dependability of the control flow process from the actuator lifting process and the force process. An actuator lifting process is allowed and a force process is provided. The dependability of the control flow process is determined by the actuator lifting process. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling a piezo-actuated injector, particularly a common rail diesel internal combustion engine.
