The invention relates to a lamp socket for an electric linear lamp (L), which with the lamp receptacle (9) thereof having at least one contact surface can be inserted into a substantially parallelepiped socket base (1) made of plastic, wherein in the socket base at least one contact spring (2) is fastened, and a contact cover (7) together with the lamp is disposed displaceably in the insertion direction against the action of a compression spring (6), said contact cover comprising at least one passage opening for the contact spring in order to establish the contact during insertion of the lamp, and wherein for a linear lamp having a substantially parallelepiped lamp receptacle, which is attached thereto and oriented transversely to the lamp, prior to insertion of the lamp receptacle the contact cover is disposed on the inside of the socket base separately from the lamp receptacle. |
