The mechanism has hammers for striking gongs. A minute rack, an hour rack, and a quartz rack cooperate with pallets actuating the hammers for actuating striking work. The racks cooperate with an hour indicating cam, a minute indicating cam (15) and quartz indicating cams (22, 23, 24). The cams are driven by horological movement of a timepiece. The minute indicating cam is a fifteen level snail cam (15a) fixed to a minute indicating star wheel (11) driven by a cogwheel mobile (4) of the timepiece having stepping rate of one revolution in fifteen minutes. The cams are coaxial to each other.
