[Class 65 (i).] Folding-doors, of the kind comprising a pair of sections c, d hinged together at their adjacent edges e with the opposite edge of one section c hinged to the door post at b and the opposite edge of the other section d sliding along a guide parallel with the plane of the doorway, are operated by a slide which is moved mechanically along a suitable guide and is connected by a pivoted link o to the outer section d of the door. In the form shown, the slide runs inside an inverted channel member a, supported on brackets above the door, the slide having small rollers to run on ledges inside the channel member and a large horizontal roller to engage the walls of the channel ; the slide is operated by an endless chain j, adjustably attached to it, which passes along inside the channel a and back over the top thereof and is driven through gearing by an electric motor l. The chain carries a cam member q which operates limit switches p at each end of the movement of the doors. The mechanism may be arranged below the door. |
