An annular gap provided between the shaft and the housing is sealed by a shaft sealing assembly that comprises a radial double seal (44) with sealing surface pairs (48, 50). An annular sealing liquid chamber (54) is formed between the surface pairs and supplied with sealing liquid via a sealing liquid feed line (52).
