SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AUTHENTICATION IN WIRELESS LOCAL AREA NETWORK ENVIRONMENT

PURPOSE: An authentication system in a wireless local area network environment and a method thereof are provided to easily authenticate security between an access point of a wireless LAN network and a new terminal using a predefined function in a wireless LAN network. CONSTITUTION: If a request for access authentication is received, an access point(100) transmits a response for the access authentication to a terminal. If transmission power information is received from the terminal, the access point measures receiving power of the access point. The access point calculates a path loss value using the received transmitting power and the measured receiving power. The access point authentications an access to the terminal based on the calculated path loss value.
