Sharing objects in runtime systems

The present application relates to a computer program product, a computer-implemented method and an apparatus. The computer program product may be stored on a machine-readable medium, the computer program product being operable to cause data processing apparatus to: receive an identifier; identify a shared closure associated with the identifier, the shared closure being located in a shared memory area and consisting of a first data object and the transitive closure of data objects referenced by the first data object; and associate the shared closure with a runtime system.
