A pedal assembly (10) including a pedal support (20) and a pedal member (12) rotatably coupled to the pedal support (20) to allow pivotal movement of the pedal member (12) about a pivot axis. The pedal assembly (10) further includes a friction member having a bearing surface, and a clamp member (14) engaged with the pedal member (12) and having an engagement surface abutting the bearing surface of the friction member to define at least two separate and distinct surface contact regions. The pedal assembly (10) also includes a biasing member (22) arranged to bias the clamp member (14) to provide frictional engagement along the separate and distinct surface contact regions to resist pivotal movement of the pedal member (12).
