PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal working oil composition excellent in characteristics as a water-insoluble lubricant for working a nonferrous metal and characteristics as a working lubricant for cutting and grinding in a lubricant supplying system of a trace amount, and therefore capable of realizing improvement of working efficiency and prolongation of a lifetime of a tool. SOLUTION: This metal working oil composition contains an ester oil and a hydrocarbon oil having a kinematic viscosity of 1-20 mm<SP>2</SP>/s at 40°C. a base oil and has a water content of 200-20,000 ppm. The metal working oil composition sufficiently prevents deposition of the nonferrous metal (especially, aluminum) on the tool and increase in working resistance, when the composition is used as the water-insoluble lubricant for working the nonferrous metal. Further, the metal working oil composition forms good oil mist, when the composition is used as the working lubricant for cutting and grinding in the lubricant supplying system of the trace amount.
