The invention relates to a sectional tailgate (23) for a vehicle, comprising a top part (3) that is pivotally arranged on the vehicle body (20), a bottom part (2) which is pivotally arranged on the top part (3), a first locking mechanism (33) for coupling the top part (3) of the tailgate (23) to the vehicle body for a first open position of the tailgate, and a second locking mechanism (18) for coupling the top part (3) and the bottom part (2) of the tailgate to each other to form a unit for a second open position of the tailgate. The tailgate (23) further comprises an actuator (19) that acts on a locking mechanism (18, 33). In order to design a tailgate comprising locking mechanisms for a first and a second open position which operate effectively and require a small number of components, the actuator (19) acts on a transmitting element (9) encompassing a pin (8) which can be moved relative to a sliding guide (5) disposed on the top part (3) of the tailgate between a first and a second sliding guide position; in the second sliding guide position, the transmitting element (9) engages with the bottom part (2) of the tailgate and locks the same relative to the top part (3) of the tailgate, while in the first sliding guide position, the first locking mechanism (33) is locked. |
