PURPOSE: A cosmetic composition containing FTY720 or derivative thereof and pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating hyperpigmentation are provided to suppress melanogenesis and tyrosinase expression. CONSTITUTION: A cosmetic composition for whitening contains cosmetically effective amount of compound of chemical formula 1 or derivative and cosmetically acceptable carrier. The content of the compound or derivative is 0.01-30.0 weight% based on total weight. The derivative is phosphate ester or metabolite thereof, cosmetically acceptable salt of the compound of chemical formula 1 or bioisostere of the compound of chemical formula 1.
