A method for fabricating an electroluminescent element by a photolithographic method having advantages of high emission efficiency and take-out efficiency, convenient fabrication process and high resolution patterning while preventing thinning of pixel and color mixing between the edge part of a patterned light emitting part and a different light emitting part being formed later. The method for fabricating an EL element having a plurality of types of light emitting part formed on a basic body (1) provided with an electrode layer (2) by patterning different types of light emitting part (4) a plurality of times on the basic body (1) using a photolithographic method, comprises forming a photoresist layer (5) on the basic body (1) to cover the patterned light emitting part (4), and exposing the photoresist layer (5) through a pattern (6) such that the light emitting part (4') and its end part are not exposed. The photoresist layer (6) is then developed. |
