PURPOSE: An apparatus of generating a warping image for a curved display and a method thereof are provided to warp a plane image intentionally in order to supply an image proper to a curved display. CONSTITUTION: A parameter storage unit(116) stores the information on geometry shape of a display, and a decoder(111) decodes an input plane image. A polar coordinate converter(112) converts the two-dimensional crossing coordinates of the decoded plane image into two-dimensional polar coordinates. According to the geometry information, a screen coordinate converter(113) converts the polar coordinates into mapped two-dimensional screen coordinates. An encoder(114) encodes a converted warping image. |
