PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing fatty acid alkyl esters is provided to ensure excellent conversion ratio and selectivity using a catalyst without separate catalyst separation process. CONSTITUTION: A fatty acid alkyl esters is prepared by reacting fats and oils with lower alcohols such as methanol, ethanol, propanol or butanol under a catalyst to which amine and thiol compounds is introduced on the surface of xZnO·ZnAl2O4 metal oxide particles, wherein x is a molar ratio to ZnAl2O4 and a real number of 1~3.
