PURPOSE: A data outputting method using a proximity sensor of a portable terminal and a device thereof are provided to output resource data, which the size of sound is different according to the intensity of detected light. CONSTITUTION: A signal processing unit(120) processes a signal about detected light from a receiving unit. The signal processing unit compares a predetermined specific value, which is preset with a processed signal. The signal processing unit transfers the generated compared data to a control unit(100). The control unit analyzed the transferred compared data from the signal processing unit. The control unit converts an output data according to the result corresponding to analysis and outputs the data.
