IMAGE DISPLAY DEVICE AND OPERATING METHOD FOR THE SAME

PURPOSE: A video display device and an operation method are provided to easily control the video display device by the usage of pointer corresponding to the movement of the space remote controller. CONSTITUTION: An image display apparatus distinguishes motion pattern of a space remote controller(S10). In case the motion pattern copes with the display state change command of a predetermined area in the display screen, a control unit distinguishes the location of the pointer(S15, S20). The image display apparatus changes the display state of the pointer-located predetermined area(S25). In case the movement pattern copes with the display state change command of the whole area of the display screen, the control unit changes the display state of the whole area(S30, S35).
