The present invention relates to a process for the manufacture of decorative mirrors with indirect light of the functional and decorative type, which include an ornamental border or carved or hewn frame in the same plane (glass or mirror), where the intrinsic characteristics of the glass or mirror and the carved or hewn frame provide a specific tone to the frame or border, which along with the rear illumination create a particular effect and maximize the colour of the glass and/or mirror and the texture (carved or hewn) thereof.
