PURPOSE: A device for driving a belt member and an image forming device therewith are provided to improve the shockproof properties of a belt steering member of the image forming device. CONSTITUTION: A device for driving a belt member comprises a tensile member, a steering unit(21), and a resistance applying unit. The tensile member tenses a belt member. The steering unit comprises a steering member, a support unit, and a rotary shaft. The support unit supports the steering member. The resistance applying unit applies resistance to the steering member.
