PURPOSE: A worm shaft constraining device of an active front-wheel steering device is provided to maintain the constraining force of a solenoid even if rotating load over the constraining force is applied to the worm shaft since the worm shaft is constrained by the vertical load while being inserted into the worm shaft. CONSTITUTION: A worm shaft constraining device of an active front-wheel steering device comprises an AFS ECU(Active Front Steering Electronic Control Unit,1), an actuator(2) and a worm shaft constraining device(10). The AFS ECU receives and controls the signal of each sensor, which is needed for steering. The actuator is driven through the AFS ECU to steer the vehicle according to the steering of a steering wheel. The acturator rotates a worm shaft(4) and a gear unit(5), which has a worm wheel. The worm-shaft constraining device constrains the worm shaft and realizes a fail-safe function. The worm-shaft constraining device is installed toward the actuator.
