The component (1) has a structural panel (2) having a honeycomb core (3) located between upper and lower layers (4, 5), where the layers and the core are made of thermoplastic, chemical nature materials or polypropylene. The upper layer is covered with an aspect material and folded towards a bottom to form a section (6) of the panel. The lower layer is pressed in a form of a throat (7) near its edge (8) and located parallel towards an interior of the panel. Respective edges of the layers are welded against each other along a welding band (10) via the core that is flattened in the band. The upper and lower layers are reinforced by reinforcement fibers. An independent claim is also included for a method for forming a trim component.
