The installation has a rotary filter drum arranged in a channel (10) to filter fluid i.e. water, flowing in the channel from upstream toward downstream. Walls are provided with openings including annular openings (18a, 18b), side openings (19a, 19b) and an axial opening (64) for passage of flowing fluid. The drum includes two rotary concentric internal and external filter cylinders (31, 32). The openings are in contact with an internal space (62) of the internal cylinder or an external space (60) of the external cylinder, respectively.
