摘要 <p>The method involves determining minimum and maximum reference velocity profiles based on curvilinear abscissa (X) of an aircraft (100) along a flight plan. Values of passage time period of the aircraft at curvilinear abscissa points (X-cour) from current position to abscissa point (X-rta) where requested time of arrival (RTA) is applied for the profiles, are stored. Aircraft velocity set point is applied to any curvilinear abscissa point in the plan. The set point is determined based on the profiles and balanced by proportionality ratios among three aircraft passage time periods. The three aircraft passage time periods are first passage time period of the aircraft to the curvilinear abscissa point in the flight plan, second passage time period for flight according to the minimum reference velocity profile attaining the point where RTA is applied while respecting RTA constraint, and third passage time period for flight according to the maximum reference velocity profile attaining the point. Values of the second and third time periods are determined by a straight-line interpolation based on the stored values. An independent claim is also included for a flight management system of an aircraft.</p>
