[Class 20 (iii)] One or more pivoted sashes are operated by worm gear and a shaft 15 connected to one sash by lever and link 17, 18. Other sashes, when provided, are operatively connected to the first by links 12 pivoted in brackets 13, 14 on the top rails. The movement of the shaft 15 is limited by a knuckle 40 and stops on the worm housing. The worm is mounted in bearings in the back plate 25 and a screwed sleeve 26 adjustably locked by a nut 28, Fig. 4. A hopper window may be provided below the pivoted sash, the worm spindle being mounted on bearings on the hopper frame. The worm 23 is shaped to extend round an arc of the pinion to engage a plurality of teeth thereon.
