The system has a gas turbine (10) comprising a gas compressor (16) installed on a compression stage. A heat exchanger (18) i.e. sequential type rotary regenerative exchanger, is provided between the compressor and an expansion turbine (20). A combustion unit e.g. burner (12), is supplied with gaseous oxidant and fuel gas. A gasification unit i.e. gasifier (14), transforms a substance e.g. biomass, into the fuel gas for supplying fuel to the combustion unit.
