PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the length of a harness connected to a motor control device as much as possible, and to surely inhibit the interference of the harness with a member around an electric power steering device in a vehicle in the electric power steering device. SOLUTION: In the electric power steering device, a steering shaft 2 transmitting the steering force of a motor 21 penetrates through a steering column 28. An ECU housing 26 is arranged adjacent to the steering column 28. A protection space B1 is formed between a column side opposing surface 63 of the steering column 28 and the ECU side opposing surface 64 of the ECU housing 26.
